Life is Good
I did it, I finally broke down and decided to
start a blog! Years after I wanted to, but after spending those years crafting,
I've realized I can't keep all my talent or thoughts to myself :) I guess I'm
starting this blog now, not only to show-off my creations, but to hopefully help
others become crafty too. Also, it will be a sort of diary of my life...
because I've been blessed to have had some AMAZING experiences with equally
amazing people (and I would like a little opportunity to brag :P), but also
because of the hardships I have faced recently (and a little free
therapy/journaling never hurt anyone).
I have had a very blessed life, in almost every aspect, since the day I was born. Not a day goes by where I have not been grateful and thankful for the people I have in my life, the things and places that I have seen and experienced, and the health I have, the food on my table, the possessions I own, all of it. I know I've always considered myself lucky, but I hit the lottery when I found my fiance!... turns out a bar CAN be an okay place to meet your significant other :) I can't believe how lucky I am to have him in my life. He's literally everything I could have wished for and more.
Recently though, my fiance developed major medical problems. At first, we thought it was mono, or some sort of flu-virus, but then, as his symptoms progressed, we realized that it was much more serious. He spent 5 weeks in the hospital, he almost died - a few times, and he has had many complications since. 5 weeks: of having to say our goodbyes, trying to stay strong, going through hell and back. It just didn't seem real.
Thankfully, we got him back... Mayo Clinic is amazing! They saved his life! They saved my world! He's been back at home for almost a month now. I couldn't be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <----- that will never be enough exclamation points.
Since his illness, I've learned the hard way that life (or life as we knew it) can be short. I have so many goals, it was doing me no good to say, "I'll do that eventually." So that to-do list I've created for myself on Pinterest... yea, that needed to be attacked! Since we've been back at home, I've been in super-warped-hyper-speed! I've had a lot of fun learning techniques from patterns, putting together projects, and now.... designing my own patterns! I may have found my niche in the world :) at least that's what my supportive fiance, family, and friends think. So, I'm going ahead full-steam!
BUT, sewing is not my only hobby. I love EVERY craft. I often work with clay, in fact, I'm making all of our wedding flowers by hand :). I also scrapbook, crochet, draw, paint - mostly oils, and do any craft I find adorable on Pinterest. So there will be plenty of pictures of all of my projects soon!
Looking forward to the journey
