My Rugged Outdoorsman

When your significant other is so passionate about his hobbies, so must you become passionate about them :P

I never would have thought that I could learn to overcome my fear of bugs and eventually bait a hook - on my own - without gloves.  It only took 2 years to accomplish that lol.
I never would have thought that I would tolerate the cold enough to sit out on ice, fishing for fish that sometimes never show :)
I never would have thought that I, a liberal, would learn to love shooting shotguns
...but I did.

That's why I love being with him.  He has given me so many experiences in life that I would have missed out on otherwise.

Nothing beats being out on the Mississippi River in the summertime.  We make sure to camp on the river banks every summer with a group of friends for the whole weekend.  2/3 times we survived horrible thunderstorms in the middle of the night! For the whole night.  But totally worth the memories and stories

Our dog Gnomeo decided to jump out of our boat once while we were on the Mississippi.  He had never jumped out the several times he's been in the boat before and later it hit us... we were in an area thick with green seeds floating in the water... he must have thought the green was land, and jumped out to get an awful surprise!  Getting him back in the boat was quite the ordeal!  I, with no upper-body strength, experienced what I have heard about - Supermommy Strength.  Turns out adrenaline rushes really do give you that extra edge you need to lift.  He hasn't jumped out since. Good boy! lol

Target practice at Eric's parent's house.  Turns out, I'm an EXCELLENT shot.  I will be trying my hand at deer hunting this fall for the 1st time.  Another thing that I never thought I would be doing.

I'm doing my best to become vegetarian, but as long as I eat meat, I think that it is 100x better that the meat from deer or fish we eat, we got ourselves.  We know how it was harvested and processed.  It wasn't mass produced, grown in cages, given antibiotics when they didn't need it, tortured, or processed in a facility that could be contaminated, etc.
