Packers vs. Vikings Game @ Lambeau Field - Got to see Brett Favre play a game in his last season
I can die happy now (crossed 3 things off my bucket list with one night)... oh and did I mention it was on my 22nd birthday?! How can you beat a night like that?
...oh right, I guess you can't!
Let me clarify one thing first... I have been a Packers fan since 3rd grade. When Brett Favre left, it was devistating for me for like 30 whole seconds. Then, I learned he went to the Vikings. My dad bought me the jersey for my birthday as soon as he heard the news (he is a Vikings fan). So he bought it to rub it in, try to convert me, and also because he knew I was a Favre fan, first and foremost. I never converted to a Vikings fan!
We went to the game, I decided to support him over the Packers... I try to live life with no regrets, but dang this came close! I was a traitor for a day.
Not since.
:) despite Eric and my father's best efforts, I will always (ALWAYS) be a cheesehead :)
Since we are all about getting the most out of every vacation, we had our hearts set on tailgaiting!
But we didn't think much about preparing for it.
It was brutal from the start lol!
We didn't have a portable grill, so we borrowed one from a friend... a baby sized one.
We had never used a charcoal grill before and had so much trouble lighting it, after 15 minutes of snickering at us, the swarm of Packers fans around us finally came over and lit it for us. hahaha!
We didn't have sweet chairs like we do now, so we had one crappy lawn chair, and one ice fishing chair (that sat like 4 inches off the ground - perfect next to the baby grill)
Even our cooler was the smallest one on the market!
And we were in my sleek car, and not Eric's big truck...
We were RIGHT next to an example of how it SHOULD be done. 1 pickup truck, with a grill built into the bed, that slid out to cook and work as a table!! What?!
They had a tent set up, and a table under it with their crazy spread of food, and a keg in an ice bath under that!
We never stood a chance lol
We also never had more fun laughing at ourselves!!
