No Sew Fabric Flowers

Fabric Flowers

These are so easy and so PRETTY!  This was the first project I made with fabric other than baby quilts.

Take strips of fabric a couple inches thick, and as long as you want (demensions depend on how full or big you want the flower).  Fold the strips in half lengthwise.  I like to iron it, but it's not a requirement.

Tape one end of the fabric to a floral pick.  Floral picks are at every craft store, they are green, and have wire on one end... I always cut the wire off.  Make sure you buy floral tape also! When you use floral tape, make sure to gently stretch it.  Stretching the tape 'activates' the sticky-ness, so you will get a better seal!  Floral tape the start of the fabric and go about an inch down the pick.  Press tight.

Then quite simply, twist the fabic down its length and curl it around itself.  When you get to the end of the strip, save an inch or so to tape down with more floral tape.  If you want to add leaves (also available at most craft stores), do so now.  Floral tape down the length of the pick at a diagonal angle, stretching it a little as you go.
