Angry Birds Pumpkins
These little guys turned out amazing! All we needed was 4 appropriately shaped pumpkins, 3 acorn squash, acrylic paint, paint brushes, cardstock, a sharpie, and tape!
You want to paint LAYERS of paint on each pumpkin. It's important to paint one layer at a time and do it fast. Once acrylic paint starts drying, if you paint over it, the paint will peel up and nothing will stick to that spot again for awhile... which is why I oil paint on canvas lol.
I put about 3 layers on each of them, just for good measure.
We cut eyes out of white cardstock and drew the pupils in with a sharpie. Cut noses and beaks out of the appropriate colors. Beaks are just two yellow triangles: one big, one little. Don't forget to cut out their tail feathers, 'hair' feathers, angry eyebrows, dynamite wick, and crown. Tape all the paper on and you got Angry Bird Pumpkins!
We went above and beyond and built the house for the piggy, and the slingshot.
*Note: be prepared to have your heart broken if you host a Halloween party... people have a natural urge to want to smash them (especially since that's what the game is all about - also because they are pumpkins) that becomes amplified with a few hard ciders!
GOOD LUCK!
